چکیده

We present the analytical solution of a maser shaped like a spherical shell. We determine the general condition on the size of the central cavity at which a sphere becomes a shell maser, and derive the intensity, beaming angle and observed size of both unsaturated and saturated shells.

Proper motions of water vapour masers and bipolarout ow from NML

MERLIN observations of the 22-GHz H 2 O masers in the circumstellar envelope of the supergiant NML Cyg show an irregular ring of emission 200 mas across, plus a pair of outlying features to the NW and SE nearly 600 mas apart. Comparison with maps at previous epochs reveals proper motions of these outlying features, of 1:90:4 mas yr ?1. This corresponds to a transverse velocity of 194 km s ?1 at...

Vlba Observations of G5.89 0.39: Oh Masers and Magnetic Field Structure

We present VLBA observations of 1667 MHz OH maser emission from the massive star formation region G5.89 0.39. The observations were phase-referenced, allowing the absolute positions of the masers to be obtained. The 1667MHzmasers have radial velocities that span 50 km s 1 but show little evidence of tracing the bipolar molecular outflow, as has been claimed in previous studies. We identify 23 Z...

VLBI Observations of Water Masers in the Circumstellar Envelope of IRC+60169

Water masers around an AGB star, IRC+60169, were observed at four epochs using the Japanese VLBI networks. The distribution of the maser features is limited in a thick-shell region, which has inner and outer expansion velocities of 7 km s and 14 km s at radii of 25 mas and 120 mas, respectively. The distribution of the red-shifted features exhibits a ring-like structure, the diameter of which i...

Rapidly increasing collimation and magnetic field changes of a protostellar H2O maser outflow

Context. W75N(B) is a massive star-forming region that contains three radio continuum sources (VLA 1, VLA 2, and VLA 3), which are thought to be three massive young stellar objects at three different evolutionary stages. VLA 1 is the most evolved and VLA 2 the least evolved source. The 22 GHz H2O masers associated with VLA 1 and VLA 2 have been mapped at several epochs over eight years. While t...

3d Modeling of 1612 Mhz Oh Masers Monte Carlo Modeling of the Maser Shells and the Amplified Stellar Image

We present the first results of our 3D Monte Carlo maser radiative transfer code, used to model the 1612 MHz OH maser shell and the amplification of emission from the stellar radio-photosphere.
